Sane COMEX Silver Position Limit
Dear Sir:
I thank you for this opportunity to comment on the issue of position limits for precious metals, having now
observed this market for several years.
It is vital--for the integrity of the market and the credibility of your organization--to stop the levels of concentration
in COMEX silver futures that have evolved on the short side in recent years
Please establish a speculative position limit of no more than 1500 contracts in COMEX silver, and make sure to
restrict hedging exemptions to
legitimate hedgers only
(i.e., non-speculative market stakeholders: direct
producers and consumers).
