To disallow PredictIt prediction markets while permitting fraudulent “shitcoin” speculation and weekly options trading on “brokers” like Robinhood is utterly preposterous. As a CFA, experienced portfolio manager, risk manager, commodities trader, and fiduciary, I strong question the motives and intentions of the CFTC to seek action against PredictIt while ignoring outrageously irresponsible speculative gambling taking place in supposedly more legitimate venues.
By the way, the very same crypto markets that the CFTC chooses to ignore are central to the facilitation of illegal offshore gambling on the same outcomes as PredictIt, except that these markets are completely unregulated and extralegal.
Ridiculous.
