We need to think about how this kind of trading interacts not only with those who trade, but within the greater context of market speculations — both in established indices and in popular betting markets.

The nature of financial speculation in America is fundamentally changed this decade. There is no returning the phones to pockets. Most states have now been subject to an enormous cultural shift. Trading in the capacity a user can on PredictIt is one that is more involved, less speculative, more controlled, and less addictive than is the baseline with the new normal through major casinos and young folks on phones.

It's time to think about the larger context. If your house is on fire or if it is safe, if the wind is blowing or your neighbors need help — you would hold different tools, take different action. Look outside and see what is happening. Take this into account when you think about these markets.
