    Comment Text:

My work revolves around evaluating the effectiveness of climate policies and advocating for evidence-based strategies to mitigate climate change impacts. Political decisions on energy policies, emissions regulations, and international climate agreements profoundly influence our ability to address global warming. Kalshi’s election contracts could provide critical insights into how these policies might evolve based on electoral outcomes. The CFTC’s reluctance to approve these markets undermines our efforts to promote sustainable and resilient environmental policies. Accurate predictions about election results would enable us to anticipate changes in climate policy frameworks and prepare comprehensive strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote renewable energy adoption. This tool could also foster greater collaboration among policymakers, scientists, and stakeholders by offering a transparent and data-driven approach to climate policy planning. By supporting the regulation of these prediction markets, the CFTC would empower climate change policy analysts and advocates to accelerate progress towards a sustainable future for generations to come.
