As a tech-savvy trader, I have seen firsthand the economic utility of event contracts offered by platforms like Kalshi. These markets, especially those related to elections, sports, and entertainment awards, provide significant insights and hedging opportunities that traditional financial instruments do not. The proposed ban on these contracts by the CFTC overlooks their value and potential to enhance market transparency and efficiency. Prohibiting these contracts is not a form of regulation but a step backward for financial innovation. I strongly oppose this rulemaking and encourage a more nuanced approach to regulation.
