The CFTC is apparently under the mistaken impression that the activities on Predictit are gambling. This is incorrect in that gambling involves a certain amount of luck whereas there is no luck involved in the markets on Predictit. As a patron of casinos, I am very familiar with luck and odds set by the casino. That is not at all the same thing as what happens on Predictit. The activities there are more akin to poling, albeit with minor stakes involved to so that the participants have some skin in the game to make these predictions taking with some real thought. Predictit is a valuable resource and should not be shut down
