If we understand that different industries rely on, lobby for, and analyze election results, trends, and priorities in order to make money, I think that it is a silly thing to condemn the average individual from doing so. Should they do it in a way that harms their health and the health on those that rely on them, certainly not. But I believe that applies to stock trading, gambling, or any vice. One's livelihood should not rely on risky bets outside of one's means. In any case, I find this not an issue. Many candidates have defied odds before, to win or lose. I think this is a spot of fun for people, although they should certainly do it responsibly.
