I recently heard the news that the CFTC is proposing a ban on election prediction markets. This is extremely unfortunate and seems like an overreach from the federal government.
You know, and I know, that this is wrong.
When you trade on these platforms, you aren’t rolling the dice or playing a guessing game. Instead, you’re taking in complex information from the world around you, sifting fact from fiction, and making a careful decision using your experience, intelligence, and intuition. Ultimately, you produce highly accurate and influential expectations of the future.
The federal government shouldn't be wasting its time and valuable resources on trying to regulate or ban these prediction markets. I urge you to drop this proposed ban and focus on more important issues that use our hard-earned taxpayer dollars.
