I, as well as many other citizens, have been under the impression that the SEC, FTC, and other regulating bodies work toward a free and fair market. The events of the past three years have shaken that foundational belief, and movements like this are adding fuel to the fire. Many of my personal contacts have decided they will no longer participate in a market where trading data is withheld from the public, they can not then make educated decisions but are forced to gamble with their income on the industry's self reported statistics.
This Vertical Integration concept will only serve to exacerbate all the aforementioned concerns, and I conpletely agree with the opinions set forth by Commissioner Christy Goldsmith Romero. At a time when the worlds economy is faultering, let's not pull a shroud over the inner workings of the devices which need to be fixed.
