It is unbelievable that a Federal agency would even consider such a proposal as allowing legal betting on US elections. Allowing betting on election outcomes will create strong financial incentives for special interests with lots of money to manipulate and interfere in our elections, more than they already do with "dark money" groups placing ads in all types of public mediums without having to reveal the donors. Allowing this proposal will undermine the integrity of our elections and our democracy because the public will not know whom to believe or trust. Public mistrust is already high because of the lies perpetuated by Trump and his minions about possible voter fraud, despite many investigations at state and national levels proving that the 2020 Federal presidential and congressional election was legitimate. Allowing this proposal would reduce voter confidence, and lead to a perception that election outcomes are not solely determined by voters’ choices, but also by those who bet on election results or otherwise influence people solely through money - one person one vote could be turned upside down, with the destruction of our democracy as the outcome. Please reject this incredibly horrible, disgusting, immoral, unAmerican proposal.
