    Comment Text:

I am in favor of allowing prediction markets on political questions such as which party will control Congress as well as who will win various other races. It is unfortunate that the parties themselves, as well as actors on their behalf, are free to spend practically unlimited funds to compete these races, yet organizations face regulatory hurdles in allowing forecasters to assess the state of the race using these markets. If the objection is to the involvement of money in politics, I find the objection underwhelming. If the objection is to legally enabling a form of gambling, I wonder if the regulators have watched the Super Bowl recently. Meanwhile, there is the chance to allow an additional source of crowdsourced information to complement polls in matters of widespread interest like political races. Again, I am in favor of allowing these markets. Thank you for reading my comment.
