There is too much gambling on everything these days. People with gambling addictions are being bombarded by opportunities to go off the deep end.
That being said, what concerns me about gambling on elections is this; Sports games have been influenced to create a certain outcome to benefit bettors. What would stop someone from trying to do the same with an election?
This is a very slippery slope here. We already have instability in our elections process, and there is a backward slide in confidence in the outcome. Betting on elections would further muddy the waters.
For those reasons, I feel that sanctified betting on elections is an extremely bad idea.
