First it was Citizens United. Now this. Elections these days are manipulated by money and greed.
I was born in the UK and such a thing could not happen in that country (although there is still a certain amount of corruption). Allowing betting on election outcomes will create strong financial incentives for special interests to manipulate and interfere in our elections. Also, allowing this proposal will reduce voter confidence, and lead to a perception that election outcomes are not solely determined by voters’ choices, but also by those who bet on election results.
