I'm disgusted by the idea that people are seeking to legalize gambling on elections, and I strongly urge the CFTC to reject it. Elections are serious business, not a sport. Allowing betting on elections would undermine the integrity of elections and democracy in the United States. It would reduce voter confidence, and lead to a perception that election outcomes are not solely determined by voters’ choices, but also by those who bet on election results.
