I am a US Citizen and voter residing in Canada.
Please reject this proposal to allow betting on our elections.
Our elections are already too much under the influence of moneyed interests.
Allowing betting on election outcomes will create strong financial incentives for special and POSSIBLY CRIMINAL INTERESTS to manipulate and interfere in our elections.
It would likely also open opportunities for unscrupulous candidates to manipulate the system & cheat in order to be elected, eroding the integrity of our elections.
At minimum it would reduce voter confidence, and lead to a perception (with good reason) that election outcomes are not solely determined by voters’ choices, but also by those who bet on election results.
