Election prediction markets are the truth finding forces the world has always needed. Whatever the state of the world, event prediction markets shine light on what will actually happen, through all the media hype, false reporting and bad polling.
There is value in seeing the probability of what may unfold. Event prediction statistics have been observed and respected by all sectors of the economy for many years. Journalists often cite them to add value and context to articles. The only good gauge on what is actually happening are the statistics built by prediction markets because there is no comparable peg on reality for the public. More than gambling, throngs of financially interested investigators work together to find the statistics that best resemble the truth, with impressive historical accuracy.
Enemies of election prediction markets are: 1) white collar criminals who try to leverage the power of media against the public; 2) white collar criminals who corrupt political polling; 3) candidates engaged in corrupting voting processes who want their activities to remain completely hidden from the public, as they were before the popular emergence of event prediction markets.
Suppressing election prediction markets goes against public interest and is therefore an irrefutably clear abuse of government power. Decency will be allowed to prevail if government simply chooses to stop.
