It already appears that elections are skewed by how much money is paid to advertise for certain outcomes. Allowing betting on elections can only make this worse. It allows personal monetary gain to be yet another incentive that is anti-democratic. We need instead to have rules that return us to "one person, one vote", rather than rules that allow this to be even more eroded away than recent years have allowed.
