    Comment Text:

We already have a major problem with wealthy special interests manipulating our elections for financial gain. The last thing we need to be doing is allowing betting by monied interests on election outcomes.

    Allowing this proposal:
    1. Undermines the integrity of our elections and our democracy.
    2. Creates strong financial incentives for special interests to manipulate and interfere in elections.
    3. Destroy voter confidence, due to the appearance that election outcomes are not determined by voters, but by gamblers manipulating results.
    4. Puts personal gain ahead of the public interest.
    5. Undermines the principle of one person, one vote – the bedrock of our democracy.

Our daily lives, our children's lives, the future of the planet, and so much more are in the hands of elected officials. Elections are not a game to be won or lost for financial gain.
