On the proposal of election gambling:
Allowing such would undermine the integrity of our elections and our democracy. It would create strong financial incentives for special interests to manipulate, interfere in our elections, reduce voter confidence, and lead to a perception that election outcomes are not solely determined by voters’ choices, but also by those who bet on election results.
Allowing such proposal would put personal gain ahead of the public interest and undermine the principle of one person, one vote – an essential element of our democracy.
