Allowing election gambling is such a BAD idea: it would encourage in inflow of all kinds of big money influence and disinformation and in general just debases the whole idea of elections and democracy and will have the effect of undermining their integrity.
There is already enough "dark money" involved in elections: allowing wagering on election outcomes will create strong financial incentives for special interests to manipulate and interfere in our elections even more than they are now. This will lead to a perception that election outcomes are not solely determined by voters’ choices, but also by those who bet on election results, destroying what little faith people still have in the process.
Allowing this proposal puts personal gain ahead of the public interest.
Allowing this proposal undermines the principle of one person, one vote – the bedrock of our democracy.
