This proposal would remove voting from the fundamental instantiation of democracy to the domain of gaming for profit- the USA would not be "by, of and for the will of the people", it would be "buy, of and for the profit of the greedy".
Enabling this proposal will destroy the integrity of our elections and our democracy.
Enabling betting on election outcomes will guarantee financial incentives for special interests to manipulate and interfere in our elections far beyond what is done today.
Enabling this proposal will eliminate voter confidence, and lead to a conviction that election outcomes are not determined by voters’ choices, but primarily by those who bet on election results.
Enabling this proposal puts personal gain in control of the will of the people.
Enabling this proposal destroys the principle of one person, one vote – the basic tenet of democracy.
