Allowing betting on election outcomes is a crazy and dangerous idea.
It would create very strong incentives for special interests to manipulate our elections.
And allowing betting on election results would erode public confidence in our democracy—and in voting—even further than it is now by leading to a perception that election outcomes are a kind of game that the most wealthy can /fix/ and are not solely determined by voters’ choices.
