Allowing betting on U.S. elections is most decidedly NOT in the public interest and is a very bad idea. The U.S.A. does NOT need any more avenues which can create strong financial incentives for special interests to manipulate and interfere in elections. As it is, voter confidence in the integrity of U.S. elections has been shaken badly enough already.
