I think that allowing wagering on the outcomes of elections is an idea that will corrupt the system in the same way gambling on any type of non random event can corrupt the results. Wherever there is money involved their is an irresistible temptation to predetermine the results via bribery of the institutions that are in place to protect the validity of the outcome or the application of money to sway public opinion for monetary gain. Please do not add this temptation to a system that already is too susceptible to corrupting monetary influences.
