Allowing gambling on the outcome of an election, any election, is a spectacularly bad idea. Elections are not sporting events; they are the most serious decisions we make collectively as citizens. Gambling on them would not only trivialize them but would open the door to all kinds of manipulation and interference in the process. Events following the 2020 election have shown that confidence in our elections has been deeply shaken; gambling would inevitably make the situation even worse. There is absolutely NO public benefit, and substantial public detriment, if this proposal is approved.
