Kalshi’s contract would promote the public interest. PredictIt and other services have been very useful, and are often quoted in news articles and used by businesses and policymakers. It is important for the Commission to be evidence-driven; these markets have never had a negative impact on the electoral process. The Commission already has years of data from democratic countries like the UK - elections trading has never been shown to impact elections of the democratic process. Unlike betting, election contracts would serve as valuable economic tools with which to manage risks I face and risks every business faces. Don’t fall for baseless fear mongering.
