I respectfully request that you not allow betting on elections. Our democracy is at least more important than major league baseball, in which players are not allowed to bet for the same obvious reasons: Allowing this proposal will undermine the integrity of our elections and our democracy;
allowing betting on election outcomes will create strong financial incentives for special interests to manipulate and interfere in our elections; and allowing this proposal will reduce voter confidence, and lead to a perception that election outcomes are not solely determined by voters’ choices, but also by those who bet on election results.
This is not a game. It is not America's Got Talent or The Voice. Please treat elections with respect and integrity, and do not invite further shenanigans and potential conspiracy theories.
