Elections have already become too much like sporting events where the most important thing is your team winning rather than what is good for the public. Allowing betting on elections would make them even more like sports rather than the solemn public duty that they should be. Right now, there is already too much "dark" money in elections. Betting would be another major source of corruption. I urge you to reject public betting on elections to help maintain whatever integrity our elections currently have.
