I support allowing prediction markets for electoral outcomes, including Kalshi's Congressional Control Contacts. Sophisticated long term financial planning requires taking into account a wide variety of market and policy scenarios and creating a plan that will produce a reliable yield regardless of which events transpire. Prediction markets provide information and instruments for building a portfolio that manages complex risks that cannot be easily be mitigated by adjusting holdings in more traditional securities and their derivates.
