Obviously not a good idea - just in case the CFTC missed that.
World events are one thing, elections quite another.
The one tool the average citizen has is the VOTE. The U.S. VOTE - a treasured
institution that other countries look to as a model but have, unfortunately,
recently been disappointed in - let's not add to that disappointment.
The casino that is the trading markets, and these KalshiEX betting contracts, are just
another but higher level of crazy that we, the citizens of the U.S., do not need.
There's enough doubt still being promoted re: U.S. elections based on unproven
claims. Betting on the probability of who'll win an election will create more doubt
as well as a frenzy of bad action - abuse of election officials not the least of it.
I suppose we can look forward to all the RICO convictions that will ensue from
these betting contracts, but that may take a long time. At least the DAs and
U.S. District Courts will continue to have work (more than they already have
which is already at overload).
Come on - not everything is a commodity.
These contracts make a mockery of our treasured institution - as do the politicians
pushing this stupidity.
