    Comment Text:

Market making is fundamentally a first-amendment protected act: between two individuals or organizations, an agreement is made that determines the payouts of a private contract between two parties. What could be more American than making a market on an election? In order to hedge my exposure to election results, I need a platform that allows me to take positions on the election. It’s ludicrous to think that an election which will affect the US economy, every consumer in the voting pool, and my personal bottom line cannot be hedged. Any outcome which affects the financial status of an individual should be able to be market-made for hedging purposes. It is undemocratic and contrary to the liberal ideas this country was founded on to suppress market-making. Give the people the right to determine how election results impact their financial status. Give us free markets!
