I support approving Kalshi to offer election outcome derivatives. As a user of the platform, I experienced the company's strong efforts to improve their user experience. I was contacted several times asking how they could improve the user experience and they listened and engaged with my feedback. Their team wants to make sure every user has a good experience using the platform which gives me confidence they will continue doing so with any approved market.
Aside from that, any approved exchange has to be transparent and accurate. Their platform is probably the most transparent, with all order books available to traders which is something that stands out. The data used and methods of calculating probabilities and settlement outcomes have been shown to be extremely accurate. It increases the trust users have in the platform and the valuation/execution of their trades.
I trust Kalshi to implement election outcome derivatives in the same fashion. Prediction derivatives should be approved in unique areas like election outcomes to help hedge unique risks or capture unique opportunities. Given my experience trading with the Kalshi platform, I am confident that I would experience the same high standards with election markets as with the other prediction markets they offer. It would be accurate, transparent, and a seamless way to gain exposure to this untapped market with a company committed to providing an exceptional user experience.
