I believe election markets should be legal, however this is not the team/company to lead the way. They’ve gotten this issue in front of the CFTC once again because they’re well connected and lie about the use case publicly while making it clear, both through their actions and words in their chat, that the purpose is more or less to mimic other election market sites while driving them offshore or out of business. Their team has used things such as natural disasters to promote their site falsely claiming that betting one side or another of an event could have supplemented or replaced insurance when the markets have nowhere near the volume needed to even pay to replace someone’s lawn gnomes. Simply put the marketing efforts have been disingenuous at best and tactically misleading at worst. Thankfully they took the time to send an email blast to anyone who has ever signed up on their site to try and get as many positive comments from people itching to gamble on the upcoming elections as possible otherwise I would have never known about this second attempt. Thanks Tarek.
