I support Congressional control contracts; I greatly enjoyed the contracts on Kalshi regarding reconciliation, and I miss the congressional control markets from PredictIt. I'm not a professional predictor, but have a small financial stake in the outcome made me so much more informed on the process; it made me even more interested in reading the news, so that I would know if I should cut my losses or increase my stake. I felt that, at least for the markets that I participated in, I was so much more knowledgeable than I otherwise would have been. It was highly informative, but also fun, in a way that I would never have predicted until I tried it. I think that this would be a great way to increase civic engagement and interest in good policy, if nothing else.
