I'm writing in support of prediction markets for elections. Prediction markets are a new area with an incredible amount of promise for planning and discerning likely outcomes. I believe that it's likely that prediction markets will seriously rival polling as useful predictors of public sentiment and election outcomes, and we would all be better off if more information about how elections are likely to resolve were available to the public and to our elected officials.
