I do not support election markets.
US democracy relies on fair elections, uninfluenced by direct financial incentives. Our election system has changed over the history of the US. Anonymity of ballot selections was not always guaranteed but is a vital amendment that protects the integrity of each vote, the integrity that a citizen is voting in their own interest.
Allowing election markets creates direct financial incentives for citizens to vote based on who they think will elected. Citizens should vote on who they want to be elected. Further, this incentives election tampering for the sake of financial gain.
