I urge you to reject the proposal to enable betting on elections. We already have a great deal of misinformation in elections, and this would incentivize even more people to try to influence voters to vote (or to not vote) for a candidate using misinformation. This is especially important with the advent of AI programs that allow using images and voices to fake videos that look like the person portrayed actually said those words or did those deeds. Please do not further undermine people's confidence in the fairness of elections by permitting betting.
