The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is currently considering whether or not to allow a private company to take bets on the outcomes of elections.
Betting on election results is a terrible idea: It would decrease trust in our democracy and increase conspiracy theories and harassment of election officials.
Don’t allow betting on election results. It endangers our democracy in many ways.
