I have read the file "Description: Agency Information Collection Activities: Notice of Intent To Extend Collection 3038-0096, Swap Data Recordkeeping and Reporting Requirements" and I must admit, I am shocked.
It would seem to me, that the CFTC and other players wish to use the PRA as a crutch, a smokescreen, to obscure the very financial system(s) they are sworn to protect, and those that use them. Without proper reporting, crime and misappropriation of funds will continue to run rampant. The biggest players have the most to hide, and to lose.
Shame on any regulator who hides behind the PRA, or any similar act, to hide or obfuscate critical information. Transparency should be upheld, not squashed.
Make everyone report.
