I write to support the proposal from Kalshi. I’m an attorney practicing family law and bankruptcy law in California. I’m particularly concerned about the impact of the SALT deduction on my family’s finances and the finances for of my clients. If the Democrats fail to hold onto both chambers of Congress, any progress on its reinstatement (delayed during the most recent congress) will likely fail to materialize until at least 2024 or later. Kalshi's contracts would allow me to hedge my exposure to continued high taxation, should the Republicans win either the House or the Senate.
Moreover, I believe that these contracts have other intrinsic value.
