The economy is struggling to gain any type of footing it can. With rising gas prices this drives the cost of everything upward. From just filling up our gas tanks to the price of groceries, and manufacturing. There is no rhyme or reason as to why this should occur. The government is quick to regulate health care and unemployment but not gas prices! We are the land of the free and home of the brave but we can only take a beat down for so long. People are barely hanging by a thread. With the hike in prices the school's cannot afford the increase of gas and therefore put levies on the ballot to increase operating funding. The states have cut back drastically, so where is the money going to come from. Tax payers simply cannot stretch the almighty dollar anymore. The safety of our children are at stake due to no bus services and they are our future. What does this show them, that we are a third world country, but yet still provide aid to other countries when we are not able to tak care of our own. Take the lead and make a stand, we the American people cannot sustain this type of increase.

    Sincerely,
    Sandra Newman
