Greetings to the members of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. I write this letter to address a real issue in America, however, admittedly and sadly this issue is not one unknown to the commission. With the rising cost of consumable goods and Americans being laid off of jobs and taking jobs with less pay, and with home prices dropping and citizens owing much more than the home is worth, it just doesn’t make any sense at all in my thinking why any true American would stand by and allow greed to take place in any marketplace in these very hard economic times; it’s a feel of anti-American spirits going around in big corporations, wall street, etc. It is just sad….and we the people of America, who love and embrace this great Country, rely on commissioners like yourself to protect the integrity of the American structure, the American dream, the American Sprit and the American! So I sit here today to write this letter for those who are unable to write, for those who have given up, and for our children – the future generation of Americans -- I write in hopes that the American truths are re-captured for all people of America and not only to those that are wealthy or have political influences. Now, for most Americans to go to the gas station and spend 50 dollars just to get almost ¾ of a tank of gas and to then go to the grocery store to only face the even higher cost of foods, can be a struggle. Why we contaminate our structure with greed, where no good can come out of is truly disheartening. Allow the speculators to do their thing when it comes to gold, silver, etc.— humans do not need these to sustain life. Hands-off speculators when it comes to food and energy– no good can come out of higher prices of food and energy. Now, if I am mistaken, I invite your thoughts on why it is good so please do email me. Today, I plea to the Commission to step in and stop speculators from interfering with the price of food and energy. Please stop listening to the lobbyist and stand for what is good for all Americans and not just a few. My prayer is that this Commission develop a plan to protect food and energy resources by implementing a very strong hands-off rule for speculators in Wall Street, or at the very least and I do mean the very least, limit their involvement in manipulating the market as it pertains to food and energy. Cassandra East, a concerned American.
