In the past, speculators had a stake or investment in the commodities they speculated on. Now, with financial backing and a few key strokes on the computer a trader can buy and hold commodities for an hour, day, or week and then sell, making millions. They have made nothing, employed no one, and caused the price of goods to increase impacting millions of lives and taken no risk of their own. This is unsustainable. Eventually there will be no one left to purchase these goods because we will all be out of work because we make nothing nor do we invest in America. Please, put regulations in place that protect the American consumer from a few getting rich while the future of this country slowly slips away.
