Dear Members of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission,
I am writing to express my concern as a U.S. citizen about the lack of controls on positions taken by speculators in food and energy prices. I believe this represents a serious danger to our national security, as we literally "sell" our most fundamental building blocks into the hands of players who have no commitment to anything other than market games.
Absence of more direct action in this area can only be interpreted as the power of industry lobbyists over your honored commission. What other explanation could there be?
