Subject: Excessive speculation on oil
Dear Mr. Fekrat:
Last year your industry helped pass new legislation that would make it harder for excessive speculaltion in crude oil to occur. Unfortunately, as I am sure you are aware, their are loopholes in the way that crude oil trades are regulated. As a consumer and senior citizen, I am writing to ask you to fight to close these energy speculation loopholes. In this economy, where people are losing their jobs (my husband included) it seems obscene to have have huge banks and hedge funds making millions by driving up the price of oil and increasing price swings as a result of these loopholes.
