Limiting the number of lots that can be positioned may help to reduce widespread criticism of the regulators and would certainly help to avoid the malpractices in the market which are generaly believed to be there.
It might be argued that the activities of banking institutions in these markets, to which they make little positive contribution, is one of the reasons for their over-trading and the damage that they have done to financial markets as a whole. Limiting their size would be an important step in the right direction.
