As a private citizen I wanted to add my voice in support of the proposed General Regulations and Derivatives Clearing Organizations. Actually I wish the regulations supported transparency for all derivatives trading. Historically the financial industry has always opposed the full light of disclosure and then learned to live with and profit in the new rules. Before the Great Depression stock trading was often hidden beyond the sight of the public and the government to the harm of us all. As an individual investor I would never trade in the derivatives market but I know I will benefit from a fully open and transparent market as would the entire public. No one has to look any further than the crisis of 2008 to know this is true. So in the interests of us all, please stand firm on your proposed regulations.
I appreciate the effort it takes to make this happen. Thank you for being willing to undertake such a task.
