There are concerns about the United States leading the world in cryptocurrency.
Specifically, cryptocurrencies are often subject to insider trading by their developers.
This is outright fraud and a crime. Developers create worthless tokens, hype them up to attract investors, sell at high prices, and then crash the value, fleecing investors.
This must be regulated. To create a healthy cryptocurrency market, regulations should favor legitimate projects and eliminate worthless token-generating platforms like pump.fun.
For example, creating a market that lists only cryptocurrencies approved by the CFTC or SEC would allow institutional and individual investors to invest with confidence.
The fact that many retail investors are still falling victim to scams is deeply concerning.
