The CFTC’s introduction of their proposed rule banning Kalshi’s election markets overlooks the potential benefits these event contracts could bring to the financial market. These contracts would enable businesses and individuals to hedge against political risks, providing a mechanism to manage uncertainties that can have profound economic impacts. Vote no on the proposal.
