Comment Text:
Opposition to the proposal for election event contracts seems to be rooted in a misunderstanding of their potential benefits. Kalshi is not promoting traditional gambling but rather introducing a structured, regulated environment that can offer significant insights and risk management capabilities.
The CFTC's concerns about manipulation and election interference are not valid. With proper oversight and regulatory measures, these markets would operate transparently and fairly. Rather than dismissing the proposal outright, a collaborative approach could ensure democratic integrity while reaping the benefits of advanced prediction markets.
